Wednesday, September 14, 2005 Fink Says BlackRock Remains a Buyer Laurence Fink used an investors’ conference to advertise the fact that BlackRock is again shopping now that it has absorbed State Street Research & Management. BlackRock's chairman and CEO was speaking at the 2005 Lehman Brothers Financial Services Conference held Tuesday. "There are a lot of deals being thrown on the table," Fink told the audience, according to a Reuters report of the conference. He added that he believes BlackRock now "has the DNA to do an acquisition," and that the firm has made overseas expansion a key goal. BlackRock reported $414 billion in assets at the end of June.
