Wednesday, October 26, 2005 AUM up at Calamos Calamos Asset Management beat analysts' estimates of third quarter earnings by three pennies. Net income for the Naperville, Illinois-based company was $7.6 million, or $0.33 in diluted earnings per share. Assets under management totaled $42.2 billion at the end of the third quarter, up seven percent during the quarter and 27 percent compared to the year-ago period. Net inflows contributed $397 million and market appreciation rose assets by $2.3 billion. Mutual funds accounted for $30.5 billion of total assets and separate accounts contributed $11.7 billion in assets. Within mutual funds, open-end funds totaled $24.5 billion while closed-end funds accounted for $6 billion in assets under management.
