Thursday, October 27, 2005 Amvescap Stands by Invesco Field Amvescap is firm. There will be no name change to "Invesco Field at Mile High," despite the fact that the Invesco retail brand no longer exists. But the Denver Post reports that one source says that a name change has at least been contemplated by the executives at AIM. Ray Baker, chairman of the Metropolitan Football Stadium District, recounts a conversation he had with AIM CEO Mark Williamson back in July where Williamson allegedly raised the idea of changing the stadium name to AIM Investments at Mile High. But AIM spokesman Ivy McLemore told the Post: "we have no plans to change the name Invesco Field at Mile High. Period." Amvescap announced it would ditch the Invesco retail brand in the U.S., but keep the brand for use in the institutional and worldwide businesses in September of 2004.
