Monday, November 28, 2005 Canadian Fund Group Names Chief The Canadian fund industry has a new chief. Joanne De Laurentiis, president and CEO of Credit Union Central of Canada, has taken on the job of head of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC). De Laurentiis will replace Tom Hockin as head of the Canadian fund industry trade and lobbying group in January, said IFIC chair Brenda Vince in a statement. Hockin has led the IFIC for 11 years. For De Laurentiis the new job should hold some familiarity to her duties as leader of the Credit Union Central of Canada. That organization represented the credit unions located outside Quebec. Prior to that, she was also the first CEO of Interac. Earlier in the career, she was a vice president of the Canadian Bankers Association.
