State Street And Mellon Set for Custodial Asset Showdown


There is a showdown brewing between State Street and Mellon Financial, with both sides shoring up their positions with mergers. The Boston Herald reports that the competition in custodial asset field is about to get a lot tighter when Mellon completes its merger with The Bank of New York in July and State Street completes its planned merger with Investors Financial Services. Both companies say they are not worried.
