Tuesday, September 11, 2007 Franklin Buys Majority Stake in Software Firm Franklin Templeton is betting on technology with the purchase of a majority stake in Riva Financial Systems, which makes software that allows for the transfer of securities around the world. The San Mateo County Times reports that the the move supports Franklin's goal of having flexible solutions in parts of the world where its funds are sold. Franklin acquired the stake in the company that had previously been held by Swissrisk Financial Systems based in Frankfurt, Germany.
