Friday, February 1, 2008 Rainier Fund to be Adopted This spring, the Rainier Large Cap Equity Growth may already be at its new foster home. John Hancock plans to adopt the fund and reorganize it into the John Hancock Rainier Growth Fund. Hancock would become the investment adviser while Rainier Investment Management would take care of day-to-day portfolio management. The proposed reorganization was approved by the board of trustees of Rainier Investment Management Mutual Funds in December, according to an SEC filing. If the fund's shareholders greenlight the change, the reorganization will take place in the early part of the second quarter.
