A Janus Portfolio Manager Heads Out the Door

Another portfolio manager has parted ways with Janus. According to a filing with the SEC, Daniel Kozlowski, co-manager of the Janus Adviser Long/Short Fund, has left the company.

Kozlowski's duties will be taken over by by lead manager David Decker and co-manager Daniel Riff. The changes are effective March 31.

Also according to the filing, the Adviser Long/Short Fund closed to new investors as of March 25.

More than a dozen portfolio managers have left the Denver-based fund firm since CEO Gary Black made employee compensation more closely tied to the overall business model.

Portfolio manager pay was tied more closely with measures such as mentoring younger employees, whether they are driving the research debate and whether they are working well with the sales force.
