Barron's reports that O'Shaughnessy, who left doomed Bear Stearns in March to start O'Shaughnessy Asset Management under a pre-arranged deal, is seeking backers so that his firm can launch new mutual funds. Currently, O'Shaughnessy manages $6 billion in mutual fund assets for the Royal Bank of Canada's mutual fund unit.
