Tuesday, July 8, 2008 Fund World Loses an Investing Legend Legendary investor Sir John Templeton, has died. Templeton's obituary ran Tuesday in the U.K. Telegraph. Templeton, 95, died at his home in the Bahamas from pneumonia.
Templeton founded his eponymous fund group in 1954 and went on to sell it to Franklin Group in 1992 for $440 million. After the sale, Templeton retired from the fund business to focus on religious and spiritual pursuits.
