Friday, July 25, 2008 American Files For a New Fund American Funds has filed for a rare fund rollout. The company filed a prospectus for the American Funds International Growth and Income Fund on July 14. According to Morningstar, American has only launched two funds in the last ten years, excluding its suite of target date products launched last year. The new fund will be part of the American Funds Insurance Series. It will be offered in class 1, with an expense ratio of 72 bps. The Insurance Series consists of 16 funds.
