Tuesday, August 5, 2008 Jaffe Talks Buy and Hold Skip Tuesday's WSJ Fund Track, unless you want some pointers geared towards the individual investor. The column, written by individual investor advocate Chuck Jaffe, covers a new study by Baird Advisory Services Research. The study looked at funds designated as "high performers" as defined by their ability to beat their benchmark by one percentage point annually for 10 years. Most of the top performing funds also went through a period where they were "killed" by either the market or their peer group. Jaffe uses the research to prove his point that some top performers are worth holding onto even through the tough times.
