Wednesday, August 6, 2008 Will Risky Bets Sink Janus Again? In Wednesday's WSJ FundTrack, Diya Gullapalli asks whether or not Janus is headed for second cataclysm due to risky stock bets, based on Tuesday's downgrade by an analyst. The Denver company received a downgrade from JPMorgan analyst Ken Worthington, who said that investments in big energy and foreign stocks may sour. Yet of 15 analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters, only Worthington recommended an underweight position on Janus'stock. Worthington himself also lauded Janus for its great quarterly results a mere 10 days ago, but he said that the reversals in performance are coming "hard and fast."
