PowerShares to Launch Half a Dozen New Funds
PowerShares plans to launch six new portfolios on the Nasdaq. All portfolios will be listed on September 18.

The PowerShares Global Agriculture Portfolio (PAGG) is based on the NASDAQ OMX Global Agriculture IndexSM. The Index is designed to measure the overall performance of globally traded securities of the largest and most liquid companies involved in agriculture and farming-related activities. The Index is rebalanced quarterly using a modified market capitalization-weighting methodology.
The PowerShares Global Coal Portfolio (PKOL) is based on the NASDAQ OMX Global Coal IndexSM. The Index is designed to measure the overall performance of globally traded securities of the largest and most liquid companies involved in the exploration for and mining of coal, and other related activities in the coal industry. The Index is rebalanced quarterly using a modified market capitalization-weighting methodology.
The PowerShares Global Gold and Precious Metals Portfolio (PSAU) is based on the NASDAQ OMX Global Gold and Precious Metals IndexSM. The Index is designed to measure the overall performance of globally traded securities of the largest and most liquid companies involved in mining-related activities for gold and other precious metals. The Index is designed to measure the overall performance of globally traded securities of the largest and most liquid companies involved in the manufacturing and storage of iron and steel products. The Index is rebalanced quarterly using a modified market capitalization-weighting methodology.
The PowerShares Global Biotech Portfolio (PBTQ) is based on the NASDAQ OMX Global Biotech IndexSM. The Index is designed to measure the overall performance of globally traded securities of the largest and most liquid companies involved in the biotechnology industry. The Index is rebalanced quarterly using a modified market capitalization-weighting methodology.
The PowerShares Global Progressive Transportation Portfolio (PTRP) is based on the Wilder NASDAQ OMX Global Energy Efficient Transport IndexSM. The index tracks the performance of a global group of companies focused on technologies for utilization of greener, more efficient sources of energy to initiate a societal transition toward cleaner, less costly and more efficient means of transportation.
