Thursday, March 5, 2009 A Treasury Money Fund Returns to the Shelf Treasury yields are inching back up, and at least one treasury money market fund is about to re-open. The Wall Street Journal's Sam Mamudi reports that J.P. Morgan will reopen its U.S. Treasury Plus Money Market fund Thursday. (The fund first closed on December 9.) J.P. Morgan wasn't the only fund firm to turn off the treasury money market faucet in recent months. Both the Allegiant Treasury Money Market Fund and the Evergreen Institutional 100% Treasury Money Market Fund closed to new investors on December 1, and more recently Vanguard closed the Admiral Treasury Money Market and Treasury Money Market funds to new institutional investors and then new individual investors (see MFWire, 12/11/2008, 12/17/2008 and 1/27/2009).
