The Supreme Court Might Push Fund Fees Down, Says the WSJ

Will the Supreme Court change the way mutual fund fee lawsuits are decided? The Wall Street Journal's Sam Mamudi takes on that question in the Thursday Fund Track column. A version of Mamudi's piece first appeared in the Journal's sister publication, MarketWatch on Tuesday evening.

The Supreme Court revealed on March 9 that it would hear the appeal (see MFWire, 3/9/2009). The case is Jerry N. Jones et al v. Harris Associates L.P. (Harris advises the Oakmark Funds.)

Mamudi turns to Chicago-Kent College of Law assistant professor William Birdthistle, Morningstar fund analyst Ryan Leggio and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker fund attorney Mike Rosella for thoughts on the case's implications.
