Tuesday, April 7, 2009 Another Paper Examines Magellan's Performance The press is again highlighting volatility at Fidelity Magellan. The Boston Globe's Steven Syre reports on the Harry Lange-managed fund's substantial drop in 2008 and its stronger performance so far in 2009. Magellan, once managed by star Fido portfolio management alum Peter Lynch, seems to regularly capture the imagination of the press. Since the financial crisis picked up steam in the fall, Dow Jones, Morningstar and the Wall Street Journal have each cataloged the fund's woes (see MFWire, 10/1/2008, 12/1/2008, 12/2/2008 and 2/13/2009).
