Monday, April 13, 2009 Columbia is Hiring Wholesalers Columbia Management, Bank of America's investment management arm, is searching for a wholesaler to cover New York City and another to cover New Jersey, according to Bank of America's Web site. The wholesalers will focus on advisors with Merrill Lynch, which Bank of America acquired in January, and Banc of America Investment Services. The posts are newly created, BofA spokesman Matt Card told The MFWire. The wholesalers will report to David Berger, Columbia Management Distributors' head of proprietary sales. The search comes amid industry speculation over the fate of Columbia (see The MFWire, 04/01/09). The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that BofA expects to sell Columbia, which had AUM of $386.4 billion at the end of 2008.
