Friday, September 25, 2009 Sallie and Sue are New York Power Brokers Sallie Krawcheck and Susan Wagner landed on Crain's New York Business' list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in New York. Krawcheck, former Citigroup CFO and current president of global wealth and investment management at Bank of America, sits at number five on the list. Directly following her is Wagner, BlackRock's chief operating officer. Crain's, who published the list in this week's issue, praised Krawcheck, saying: "In the swaggering world of stockbrokers, Ms. Krawceck is kingpin." She oversees 20,000 advisors, managing $2.5 trillion in assets. She was also named the number one "Woman to Watch in Banking" by US Banker and was ranked No. 30 on Fortune's list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business. Of Wagner, Crain wrote: "As Wall Street copes with the aftershocks of last year's cataclysm, BlackRock stands taller than ever. Ms. Wagner, 48, is a big reason why." Wagner, a founding partner, currently serves as head of strategy and operations, and she played an important role in the $13 billion acquisition of BGI in June.
