Wednesday, April 10, 2002 Bogle on Instinet CEO Search Team Vanguard founder Jack Bogle has taken a seat on a special committee of the Instinet board charged with replacing departed CEO Douglas M. Atkin. Atkin resigned yesterday as president and chief executive officer of the Instinet Group to pursue other business interests, said chairman Andre F.H. Villeneuve. Also leaving at the end of the year to retire will be Kenneth K. Marshall, chief operating officer. Mark Nienstedt, currently chief financial officer, takes over as acting president and chief executive officer of the Reuters unit while the company seeks a replacement. Jean-Marc Bouhelier, currently executive vice president in charge of Instinet's U.S. Institutional and Professional Business, has been appointed chief operating officer.
