Distribution Chief Exits a New York Asset Manager

After just four months on the job, Bill Carey has left his post as head of distribution at OppenheimerFunds, The MFWire has learned. Carey left the New York City-based mutual fund firm on Monday, company spokeswoman Jeaneen Pisarra confirmed to The MFWire. The firm has not yet named a replacement.

Carey, a one-time head of Fidelity's 401(k) business, could not immediately be reached for comment.

OppenheimerFunds "is in the process of determining his replacement," Pisarra wrote in e-mailed comments to The MFWire.

Carey joined OppenheimerFunds last September from Bank of America, where he was managing director of distribution and relationship management in the institutional retirement, philanthropy and investments division. He was with Bank of America for two years.

Previously, he spent 14 years at Fidelity, where his roles included running Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company (now known as Fidelity's workplace investing division) and Fidelity Registered Investment Advisor Group (now known as Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services).
