The article quotes a financial advisor who opines, "Fear is rampant." Many investors have decided that they have too much of their assets in stocks and are looking for other investment options. Over the past nine weeks, investors have taken nearly 2.4 percent of assets under management out of mutual funds. In October 1997, investors redeemed 3.1 percent of assets under management.
