Wednesday, March 17, 2010 A Director Finds an Alternative to TCW Another TCW executive is leaving the company, yet this one isn't joining Jeff Gundlach at DoubleLine Capital. TCW's group managing director responsible for strategic relationships, Garrett Walls, is leaving the mutual fund industry to lead the marketing effort at alternative investments firm Angelo, Gordon & Co, a TCW spokesperson confirmed. "We plan to move forward with his functions, utilizing a combination of professionals within our sale and marketing departments for now," the spokesperson told The MFWire. "We will make a determination later as to weather or not the function is best handled by a combination of people or by one dedicated individual." The MFWire could not immediately reach officials with Angelo, Gordon for comment. Walls joined TCW as its director of institutional sales in 2005, after leaving JPMorgan where he served as CEO of its U.S. institutional business. The news was first reported by hedge fund and private equity publication FINalternatives. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=31680 Copyright 2010, InvestmentWires, Inc. All Rights Reserved |
