Thursday, April 29, 2010 Franklin's Johnson Says 'The Equity Investor is Back' Fundsters interested in delving further into Franklin Resources' earnings may want to take a look at today's "Fund Track" column. The MFWire reported yesterday that Franklin's quarterly earnings per share more than tripled, and now the Wall Street Journal's Melissa Korn and Aparajita Saha-Bubna shed more light on the San Mateo, California-based asset manager's improved results. "The equity investor is back," Franklin CEO Greg Johnson reportedly stated in a conference call with analysts. The Fund Track column also draws attention to the iShares MSCI Spain Index Fund, the iShares MSCI Italy Index Fund and ProShares UltraShort MSCI Europe. The first two are suffering thanks to current woes in Greece, Spain and across, while the third is profiting from those woes.
