Fidelity Hunts for a Top Institutional Exec's Successor

Fidelity is about to hunt for a new head of product management for its institutional wealth services and National Financial businesses. The MFWire has learned that Ron Fiske, executive vice president of product management for Fidelity Institutional (which includes both FIWS and National Financial) is leaving the Boston-based mutual fund titan. Who will step in to fill his shoes?

The MFWire could not immediately reach Fiske himself for comment on the move.

"He [Fiske] decided to leave Fidelity for family reasons," Fidelity spokesman Steve Austin told The MFWire, noting that Fiske's family is in Connecticut, not Massachusetts. "We're going to begin a process to search for a successor."

"We have a deep talent pool of executives and the ability to recruit as well," Austin added.

In his role, Fiske reported to both FIWS president Mike Durbin and National Financial president Sanjiv Mirchandani. (Durbin and Mirchandani, in turn, report to Fidelity Institutional chief Gerard McGraw.) National Financial serves outside broker-dealers, while FIWS serves registered investment advisors (RIAs), as well as third-party administrators (TPAs).

Fiske first joined Fidelity two years ago after leading the product management and development group at Pershing.
