Thursday, August 8, 2002 State Street CIO Swap John A. Fiore has stepped down as chief information officer at State Street. The firm moved quickly to name his replacement, tapping Joseph C. Antonellis as chief information officer and head of its Information Technology Group. He will be responsible for the management, development and implementation of the global technology strategy for State Street. He will also head up the Information Technology group, which is responsible for the development and implementation of global architecture in support of large-scale transaction processing and product capabilities. Antonellis, 47, joined State Street in 1991 and was named executive vice president in 1999. He has held a number of senior executive positions at the company, including leading State Street Global Financial Technology Services.
