Wednesday, August 11, 2010 Two Deutsche Groups Split Off from the Mothership Two groups have completed their spin-off from DB Advisors. Both of the newly formed investment boutiques will continue to sub-advise certain Deutsche mutual funds, confirmed company spokeswoman Mayura Hooper. The quantitative strategies group has transformed itself into a firm called QS Investors via a management buyout, the Wall Street Journal reported this morning. Janet Campagna, who was global head of Deutsche Asset Management's quantiative strategies, is CEO of QS Investors. All 40 employees that had been part of the group at Deutsche are now with QS. Two days ago, Deutsche's global thematic strategies team began its fresh chapter as a new firm called Global Thematic Partners. Oliver Kratz, who ran global thematic strategies at Deutsche, is CEO of the firm. "We fully support Oliver and Janet in their new ventures and have worked with them in the establishment of their firms," Hooper said.
