Thursday, September 16, 2010 A GSAM Alum Attacks Goldman for 'Gender Discrimination' An alum of Goldman Sachs Asset Management [see profile] is suing the firm for gender discrimination. Yesterday Lisa Parisi and two other female former Goldman employees filed suit against the investment bank, describing a "a pattern and practice of gender discrimination against [Goldman's] female associates, vice presidents, and managing directors" [see complaint]. Parisi worked in GSAM from 2001-2008, first as a vice president and then as managing director in the value group. Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein and Outten & Golden, the law firms representing the three plaintiffs, set up a website on the case here. The three plaintiff's discrimination allegations involve a number of accusations, involving pay, promotion and opportunity. Goldman spokesman Lucas van Praag told Bloomberg that the "suit is without merit." "We make extraordinary efforts to recruit, develop and retain outstanding women professionals," Praag told Bloomberg, the Associated Press and Dow Jones.
