Wednesday, August 28, 2002 Fido Exec Finds Home Columbia Management Group, a unit of FleetBoston, has tapped Hugh Fanning to be its senior vice president and director of investment marketing for Liberty Funds. This is a new position. He will report ot Philip Fragasso, managing director of marketing for the fund family. "We're very pleased to bring in an individual of Hugh's talent and experience," said Mr. Fragasso. "With Hugh onboard, we're in a position to more effectively and aggressively get the word out about our money management capabilities, and to do so in a way that builds stronger relationships with our advisors and key firms." Fanning joins Columbia from Fidelity, where he was vice president, product development. In that role, he managed new product development for Fidelity Advisor and VIP funds.
