Tuesday, September 10, 2002 Ready for Redmond Safeco has named Kevin Rowell to the post of president of Safeco Mutual Funds, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. He will report to Roger Harbin, who is executive vice president of the life and investments unit. Rowell takes over from Harbin who had been acting president for mutual fund operations. Harbin took on the interim post when Dave Hill left the firm in October 2001 to pursue other interests. Rowell joins the Redmond gang from Alliance Capital Management in New York City where he was head of global relationships. He also served as director of national sales for its financial advisor and financial institutions divisions at that firm.
