Monday, January 10, 2011 BlackRock's Rice Voices His Thoughts on Coal BlackRock Inc.'s Daniel Rice is bullish on the energy sector, specfically the coal sector. The portfolio manager of the $1.5 billion BlackRock Energy & Resources Fund, told Bloomberg that an expanding global economy will probably push oil prices above $100 this year but he is also concerned about the possbility of oil rising even higher. Currently, coal stocks reportedly make up about one quarter of Rice's fund, and represent five of his top 10 holdings as of Sept. 30, 2010.
