Wednesday, March 23, 2011 American Beacon Preps an Absolute Strategies Fund American Beacon Advisors [see profile] is readying a new fund to take advantage of domestic and international fixed income and currency plays as well as futures contracts. According to a filing, the Absolute Strategies Fund will bet on "fixed income instruments without restrictions on their credit quality" although under normal market conditions, the fund’s investments in high yield bonds will be limited to 50 percent of the its net exposure. The fund may also invest a significant portion of its assets in a particular geographic region or country, including emerging markets. Brandywine Global Investment Management, LLC, Loomis, Sayles & Company, L.P. and Pacific Investment Management Company LLC will serve as the fund's subadvisors. The offering's A,C,Y, Insitutional and Investors share classes charge a management fee of 57 basis points. Its A and C classes also sport 12b-1 fees of 25 bps and 100 bps, respectively.
