Fidelity Names a New Vice Chair for Pyramis

Fidelity Investments named Charlie Morrison the new vice chairman of Pyramis Global Advisors, Reuters reports. That title was previously held by Boyce Greer, who died August 14 in a kayaking accident.

Fidelity also appointed Morrison president of fixed income for Fidelity Asset Management, overseeing two executives who previously reported to Greer, bonds president Chris Sullivan and money markets president Bob Brown.

Previously, Morrison led money markets and bonds operations, and most recently oversaw several "strategic projects," according to the firm. Morrison will now report to Ron O'Hanley. Derek Young, head of Fidelity's Asset Allocation unit and Young Chin, CIO of of Pyramis, who previously reported to Greer, now also report to O'Hanley.

A Fidelity spokesman confirmed the executive moves and added that the changes were necessary "to help Fidelity Asset management execute its strategy."
