Monday, February 13, 2012 WSJ Urges the SEC to Shatter Money-Market Myths Investors should get paid based on the risk they take, and money-market funds shouldn't be an exception, writes Martin Gonzalez of the Wall Street Journal. Gonzalez urged regulators who are currently working on revamping the money-market space to keep it simple for investors. "Shatter the myth that money-market funds are akin to insured bank accounts. After all, the systemic risk posed by money funds stems from the misbegotten notion that these vehicles can meet customers' demands for immediate redemption of invested funds at par in all scenarios," he wrote. Money-market fundsters should check out the rest of the article for more perspective from Gonzalez. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=39211 Copyright 2012, InvestmentWires, Inc.
