Wednesday, March 14, 2012 Jeff Vinik Hires Tradewinds' Iben Former Fidelity Magellan manager Jeff Vinik has tapped David Iben to join him at his hedge fund firm, Vinik Asset Management, Bloomberg reports. Iben is chief investment officer, co-president and executive managing director at Nuveen Investments' Los Angeles-based affiliate, Tradewinds. He runs the $2 billion Nuveen Tradewinds Global All Cap Fund and the $3.2 billion Nuveen Tradewinds Value Opportunities Fund. Iben will join Vinik in June. Emily Alejos and Andrew Thelen will succeed him as co-CIOs at Tradewinds, Nuveen spokeswoman Kathleen Cardoza told Bloomberg.
