Monday, May 14, 2012 Jury Checkmates "The Bishop" John Tomkins, a man better known to fundsters as "The Bishop," was convicted of mailing pipe bombs to mutual fund firms including American Century [profile] and Janus Capital [profile] . Tomkins is a 47-year-old machinist from Dubuque, Iowa, and was tried in Federal Court in Chicago. The jury found him guilty of one count of using a destructive device while mailing a threatening communication, two counts of possessing an unregistered destructive device, and nine counts of mailing a threatening communication, reports Reuters.
