Friday, January 24, 2003 Merrill Consults Research Co-Head Moves to Windy City Chicago-based UBS Global Asset Management has hired Douglas Beck as executive director to head the product management of its mutual funds and retirement plan services, the MutualFundWire.com has learned. The post is newly created, and Beck is based in Chicago. A spokesperson for UBS Global Asset Management confirmed Beck's hiring and referred further inquiries to a UBS spokesperson in New York City, who was unavailable for immediate comment. Beck joins the firm from Merrill Lynch Consults in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he was co-head of research. Consults is Merrill's managed account unit.
