Monday, January 27, 2003 CheckFree Vet Returns to Fold Jamie Waller is back at CheckFree Investment Services. The industry veteran had left the maker of separately managed accounts software to join CitiGroup in July of 2001 after spending two decades at the New Jersey-based firm. He officially returned on January 13 as vice president, strategic marketing and business development. He now reports to Alex Marasco, executive vice president and general manager of the division. Waller had assisted business development with the CitiGroup's wrap program. The wirehouse has not replaced Waller and has instead divided his duties among existing staff under the direction of Stuart Parker, head of third party distribution for the Private Portfolio Group. While at Citi, Waller had focused on developing private label relationships for the firm's multi-discipline account (MDA) program. That program has so far landed Manulife Financial. CheckFree said Waller is taking leadership for several key initiatives. One of those is the Money Management Institute's (MMI) program for creating change in communications standards, operational efficiencies, outsourcing and consulting services. He will also keep tight ties with industry associations and financial institutions to encourage product innovation and scalable growth, according to a CheckFree statement.
