Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Eaton Vance Tweaks a Muni Fund Effective August 19, the Eaton Vance [profile] AMT-Free Limited Maturity Municipal Income Fund will implement changes to the fund. It will be renamed the Eaton Vance Floating-Rate Municipal Income Fund. The fund's objective will be to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax. It also will invest at least 80 percent of its total assets in municipal floating-rate obligations and fixed-rate municipal obligations with respect to which the fund enters into agreements to swap the fixed rate for a floating rate. The fund has also eliminated the prohibition on investing in obligations with interest subject to alternative minimum tax and the limit on portfolio duration.
