Former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, has had a series of meetings with BlackRock's [profile] CEO Larry Fink, Fox Business' Charlie Gasparino reported after interviewing people familiar with the matter. Geitner would be valuable as a sort of government liaison for BlackRock as it is affiliated with many government contracts, Gasparino wrote. Rumors once swirled around Geithner becoming the next Fed Chairman, but a new book deal and his plans to stay as a distinguished fellow on Foreign Relations for the next year may have put those murmurs to rest.
