Friday, March 7, 2003 Meridian Nabs Marketer from Founders Meridian Investment Management, the advisor to the ICON Funds, has tapped the ranks of Mellon's Founders Funds for a new director of marketing. The Greenwood Village, Colorado-headquartered firm hired Bridget M. Richards for the post. She reports to Craig Callahan, president and chief investment officer. The firm hired Richards as part of an effort to focus on providing targeted marketing and communications initiatives for its institutional clients, industry relationships, and shareholders. Richards will direct and refine Meridian's marketing strategy and develop strategic marketing and communications programs for its private account products and the ICON Funds, according to the fund firm. "We expect Bridget's specialized experience in managing marketing programs in the investment marketplace to have a measurable impact on our growth," said Callahan. Richards was most recently senior vice president of marketing communications at Founders Asset Management. Founders is an affiliate of Dreyfus, which is in turn owned by Mellon.
