Tuesday, December 23, 2014 $2 Trillion and Counting $2.007 trillion. That's how much money is in U.S.-listed ETFs and other exchange-changed products now, according to the latest data from ETFGI. The London-based research shop, led by Deborah Fuhr, says that through yesterday U.S. ETF assets jumped 18 percent year-to-date, thanks in part to record net inflows of $232 billion. (The prior record, $190 billion, was set just last year.) (By comparison, according to the ICI's data, traditional mutual funds in the U.S. held $15.755 trillion as of October 31, 2014.) Earlier this month ETFGI predicted that U.S. ETFs would break the $2 trillion barrier any day, and that worldwide ETF assets would cross $3 trillion by the end of the second quarter of 2015.
