Wednesday, May 7, 2003 Franklin Promotes Baio and Bolt Franklin-Templeton is handing out rewards to two long-time executives. This morning, the San Mateo, California-based firm named Jim Baio as its new CFO and Jennifer Bolt as its chief information officer. Both execs have been with the firm for more than a decade and each take the title of senior vice president on May 15. Baio is currently Franklin's chief administrative officer reporting to Martin Flanagan, co-president of Franklin Resources. A fourteen-year veteran of Franklin, he helped to coordinate and administer the fund group's investment management operations, as well as its finance, technology, risk management and legal functions. He also oversaw Franklin's corporate development and planning group. He will continue to report to Flanagan as will Bolt. Bolt, who has been with Franklin since 1988, is now managing director of Franklin Templeton Technologies. Prior to that, she oversaw the redesign of the Franklin Web site and contributed to AdvisorCentral.com as the firm's chief Web officer. She continues to serve as chairman of Franklin Capital Corporation and Franklin Templeton Bank & Trust.
