Wednesday, May 21, 2003 New Broker-dealer Adds a Pair of Key Execs San Diego-based Shareholder Services Group, a brand new brokerage services and asset custodial firm exclusively serving independent financial advisors, is currently forming its executive team. The firm, which is slated to open its doors early next month, has hired Barry Boyte as executive vice president and Alan Dean as senior vice president. Boyte (44) will be in charge of marketing and communications and report in to CEO Peter Mangan, while Dean (41) is to oversee the firm's brokerage operations and report to Bob Reed, chief operating officer. Both executives have also taken partnership positions with the firm. Meanwhile, a few more executive-level appointments will be announced in the coming months, according to Reed. The nascent firm has allied with the Pershing division of Bank of New York for custody and clearing services, while a decision regarding trust services has yet to be finalized, Reed said. "A critical ingredient for the long term success of Shareholders Services Group is to attract superior executive talent, especially experienced individuals who understand and believe in the value the independent advisor offers consumers today," said Mangan. Most recently, Boyte was vice president and chief marketing officer for WS Griffith Securities in San Diego. Dean was most recently vice president of trading for the San Diego and Boston offices of LPL Financial Services. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=5207 Copyright 2003, InvestmentWires, Inc.
