Monday, October 5, 2015 Fido Alum For Lt Governor! A former high level executive at the Boston Behemoth is running for the number two spot in a New England state. And this isn't the first time the alumnus in question has run for statewide office.
An alumnus of Middlebury and Yale and a U.S. Army veteran, Brock is not new to Vermont state politics. In 2004 he was elected State Auditor, and he was voted out by a narrow margin two years later. In 2008 and then again in 2010 he was elected to the Vermont State Senate. And in 2012 he was the Republican nominee for Governor, though he was defeated by the incumbent Democrat. Brock is reportedly only one of two declared candidates for Lieutenant Governor this time around; the other is Brandon Riker, a small business entrepreneur. Yet a host of other people are reportedly mulling over getting into the race, including: State Senator Phillip Baruth (D), State Senator Joe Benning (R), State Senator Christopher Bray (D), State Senator Dick McCormack (D), 2014 candidate for Governor Scott Milne (R), State Senator Kevin Mullin (R), State Representative Kesha Ram (D), businessman Mark Snelling (R), and State Senator David Zuckerman (D). State Senator John Campbell (D) is reportedly out of the running. A host of publications have the latest scoop on Brock's entrance into the race, including: the Associated Press, the Barre Montpelier Times Argus, the Burlington Free Press, MyChamplainValley.com, Valley News, local NPR source VPR, VTDigger.org, and WCAX.com.
