The New York City firm is less than a year old and plans to build its product line by acquiring boutique managers to distribute. Its first acquisition was Avatar Associates. Now that its first acquisition is complete, the firm hired Chris Wilson, Andrew Capaccio, Adam Bertapelle and Robert Rosner to focus on the separate account wrap and independent financial advisor distribution channels. All four will report to Overture's vice chairman, Jim Coley. "This is the first critical step in Overture's plan to build a strong, dynamic marketing team to not only strengthen OAM Avatar's growth, but to enable Overture to gear up for new acquisitions of partners, such as OAM Avatar, in the coming months," said Coley. He added that Overture expects to make additional hires this year. Wilson, 30, takes the title of vice president for external sales in the New England territory. He was most recently vice president-regional investment consultant, Northeast Region at CDC IXIS Asset Management Group. The remainder of the new sales executives each becomes vice presidents supporting the internal wholesaling desk. Bertapelle, 29, was most recently at CDC IXIS where he was regional vice president; Capaccio, 37, joins Overture from BlackRock Financial Advisors where he was an associate and Rosner, 38, joins Overture from Morgan Stanley where he was a vice president.
