Friday, July 11, 2003 Fido Canada Names Distribution Chief Fidelity has a new head of retail sales in Canada. The Boston Behemoth's Canadian subsidiary said that Robert L. Strickland will head its distribution effort through financial advisors and third-party alliances. Strickland takes the title of executive vice president at Fidelity Investments Canada Limited and reports to David Denison, president of the unit. He will also be a member of the organization's eight-member senior executive team. He comes to Fidelity after spending nearly 9 years at TD Bank Financial Group where he held a number of domestic and international leadership roles. Most recently he was a senior vice president in the Wealth Management division of TD Bank's Private Client Group. He was also the president, TD Waterhouse Financial Planning. "Rob has extensive knowledge of the full range of distribution channels and we are delighted that he is bringing that to Fidelity Canada," Denison said in a statement. "His experience is going to be a real advantage for us as we work on further strengthening our relationships with our distribution partners through this difficult market cycle and into the future."
