Friday, August 8, 2003 Colby Takes Reins of Five Hancock Funds James T. Colby III has jumped aboard John Hancock Advisers as the portfolio manager for five of its municipal bond funds. As a vice president and senior portfolio manager, Colby will oversee the management of approximately $1 billion in assets in both the funds and the privately managed accounts area. He reports to Barry Evans, chief fixed income officer. The five funds for which Colby is responsible include: Before joining Hancock, Colby spent two years at Old Harbor Capital Management as a principal and senior fixed income portfolio manager. Earlier, he was a vice president, senior portfolio manager and co- manager of the municipal bond group at Evergreen Investment Management for eight years.
