Thursday, November 6, 2003 PFPC Expands Distribution Services Group PFPC Inc. has hired an executive from Deutsche Asset Management's Scudder unit as part of an expansion of its distribution services group. The hiring is one of a number of moves made by PFPC within the group, including the appointment of a new executive to oversee the group. Ann Piacentini joins PFPC as a vice president of client services within distribution services. She had been a senior vice president and director of strategic business intelligence at Scudder Investments. PFPC also promoted Eileen Storz-Salino to oversee the distribution services group as a vice president and senior director. She reports to the business development group. Her new responsibilities will include working with the product development team in defining the strategic direction and focus for new products and services within the transfer agency. Meanwhile, Yvonne Boisvert, vice president, takes over as managing director of client marketing in PFPC's distribution services. She has been in PFPC's corporate marketing and communications department for the past five years. The client marketing team includes John Marchand, Heather Dondis and Jennifer Pouliot, all whom recently joined PFPC. Marchand, a Scudder Investments veteran, takes the title of director of marketing; Dondis, last at Quantitative Investment Advisors, is a senior marketing manager; Pouliot, formerly at Putnam Investments, is a marketing specialist. "Distribution services are becoming ever more important within the industry," explained James W. Nolan, senior vice president, business development at PFPC. "As such, clients need a strategic player in their value chain, not just a distribution provider. It is of the utmost importance that we have the most talented and experienced people in place as we work hand-in-hand with clients to help them expand their existing distribution channels and penetrate new ones. The recent personnel additions to our team will help solidify PFPC as a leader in distribution services and allow our clients to focus on their main goal of growing assets." PFPC's distribution services group provides fund firms with technology tools, service platforms and professional expertise to identify, sell and service their shareholders across multiple distribution channels. It also offers marketing services, including research, strategic planning, campaign management, database marketing, collateral and advertising development and Web site design. It also can supply product support, including evaluation and recommendations of products/services, advertising review and call campaign and internal wholesaling assistance.
