Monday, March 8, 2004 MetLife Reveals Requests by Regulators MetLife Inc. revealed in its annual report that regulatory agencies had contacted the company and requested information relating to market timing and late trading of mutual funds and variable insurance products. The statement also said that the SEC is investigating market timing and late trading in some privately placed insurance contracts sold through General American. It said that Metlife is "fully cooperating," and that "the Company at the present time is not aware of any systemic problems with respect to such matters."
